So often we hear, “If I make the right sacrifices I’ll have what I want.”

I think a lot of these are beliefs and I had them too. My family came from Italy. Many of them with very little and they worked really hard to have what they wanted. Here in America and a lot of other parts of the world you have people that emigrate. They move to have a better life and find something better. A lot of times they move with very little. In those moments a work ethic comes about, but the thing is, it doesn’t have to be that way any longer.

One of my teachers, Michelle Masters, said “Hey, your family came over with the old Italian coffee grinder and they were manually grinding their coffee beans. We know today we can go to most household stores and get a electric coffee grinder. Go “bzzzz” and grind our coffee beans within a minute or less. Steve, which way are you grinding coffee beans? Are you doing it manually?”

See, we get stuck in a mindset that comes from the past. That work ethic helped our family survive in the past. I’m so grateful for what my family worked so hard for and gave me the opportunity in my life.  AND, we can change the way we think now.

We are in the longest peace in recorded history (see fallen.io) and on top of that, we have more choices now than ever before.

Michelle also said, “Think about when you’re driving your car. If your exit is blocked. Do you pull your car over, call whoever you were going to meet and say “hey, sorry I won’t be able to make it today. It says they’re going to open this exit in three days, so I’ll see you then.”

When have you ever done that? What do you really do? You get back on the road. You find the next exit, get off and find another route.”

When we’re driving we look for detours immediately. So, why, so often in our life when we hit a roadblock we say things like, “Oh, I’ve got to get through. I have to stay on this path. I’ve got to break through.” That’s not the case. Why can’t you do the same thing you do while driving, find another way.

Ask yourself some questions: What’s another way? How else can I get there? How else can I find my way to where I want to go?

Start asking yourself what you want in your life. If you say, “Hey, I want to spend more time with my kids and I want to earn more money. How can I do both?” That’s the question. If you ask yourself enough times you’ll find a way.

Guess what? What have I taught in so many of my episodes? “Get a mentor.” Find someone else that has already been through this or has what you want and ask him or her, “How can I get here?” There are other ways to do it. You do not have to sacrifice. If you find yourself making sacrifices in your life, ask yourself right now, “How else can I do this? How else can I get there?”

I’ve transformed my life. It’s made such a huge positive /difference. I want to share more of my story on my Live Wow Client Webcast June 9th @ 11:30am PST. Register here now!

I will share with you how I’ve designed my life the way I want, while growing business at the same time.

Until we talk again, start asking yourself some of these questions and see what happens. 🙂

With gratitude,

Steve Napolitan
